Little victories

We were a bit disappointed that not many attended this morning’s breakfast fellowship. Because the breakfast was free, it was hosted by the incoming president, Engr. Cirilo Basalo, Jr., we expected our members to invite their friends along. Only 34 members, six guests and ten ladies of the fellowship were present.

However, we did have a successful meeting with seven members sharing their testimonies, “little victories” as retired police officer Col. Ramon Sawan described. Most shared about their safe trips, blessings for their work and good relationships.

We were happy to hear the report of the group that went to Koronadal City last November 25 for the induction of officers in the South Cotabato chapter of FGBMFI. Their trip went well, according to Capt. Herme Verga, our field representative covering south of Davao area.

Our main sharer was out-going president Atty. Bienvenido Cariaga. He shared many insights on Godly wisdom. He cited many of his favorites in Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Song of Solomon, whom he described as the world’s “greatest lover” and “the wisest.”

After the fellowship, Atty. Cariaga convened a brief meeting of the officers and those involved in the preparations for the forthcoming induction cum dinner fellowship and early Christmas party. Another meeting was necessary to finalize everything. So, Atty. Cariaga suggested we meet again on Monday, which was declared as a public holiday. The meeting is at 2 pm at Coco’s Restaurant, Victoria Plaza Carpark.
